Tools for advanced High-Energy Astrophysics data analysis
Building of a HEA advanced data analysis system: data formats, programming languages, archiving and dissemination, citizen
One of the activities carried out in the AHEAD2020 programme includes the study and development of Advanced Data Analysis tools for High Energy (WP14). The main objectives of this work-package are:
- to maximize the scientific output from next generation X-ray observatories such as Athena, XRISM, eROSITA, Einstein Probe, defining and developing appropriate tools for the new capabilities offered by those missions;
- support the community for best data exploitation.
XRISM/Resolve and Athena/X-IFU
micro-calorimeters will provide in the next decades spectra
with unprecedented energy resolution in the X-ray band.
Furthermore, X-IFU will be the first X-ray integral field
instrument with a number of pixels similar to current
optical/NIR IFU.
eROSITA
first and Athena/WFI later will revolutionize the field of
X-ray surveys, opening new large discovery spaces on this
field.
SVOM,
Einstein Probe, HERMES, eXTP will provide monitoring for HE
transients, alerts and transients light curves with
unprecedented timing.
Second meeting: Thursday 19 March 2024 (10:00 -13:00)
The meeting will assess the progresses
made within the the
framework of the AHEAD2020 WP14 project during the first 2 years of the programme,
and will design the work of the next two
years by collecting additional inputs from community experts in the general fields of
instrumentation, spectroscopy, imaging, timing,
data-analysis, statistics and background-modelling.
This workshop will be held online only at this Zoom link
